Disclaimer: I don't own either Psych or Bubbly. Damn it all.
Notes:  This was the second story borne of Lu's prompts: socks, heat, new apartment. It was also inspired by (and named for) the song Bubbly by Colbie Caillat.

It may be a cold morning in a new apartment, but there's nowhere she'd rather be.

She shivered and snuggled under the blankets, seeking warmth.

This new apartment was bigger than her last, but that wasn't much of a selling point at the moment. Bigger meant harder to heat and, while that wasn't usually a big deal in southern California, they were currently in the middle of a cold snap that had everyone wondering if the people shouting 'global warming!' had been experimenting with something not chemically found in nature.

Add to that the fact that all week had been wet and rainy. Rain wasn't unusual in a California winter, but the steady, unending drizzle was beginning to make some people wonder if they'd been transported up the coast to Seattle somehow.

Finding a reason to get out of bed on this Saturday morning—her first day off in well over a week and a half—was becoming increasingly difficult.

And then her reason for needing a new, larger apartment rolled over and wrapped an arm around her middle, burying his nose against the nape of her neck.

"Warm," he murmured and pulled her closer, spooning into her and tangling his legs with hers.

She smiled when she felt his sock-covered feet rub against hers.

"Do we have to get up?" he asked.

"Are you hungry?" she responded.

He didn't answer and she wasn't sure if he'd fallen asleep or was just thinking about it.

Finally a soft, "Not really," came back and a soft kiss was brushed against her shoulder.

She felt ridiculously giddy at that small gesture and laid her arm over his where it rested against her stomach.

"Then no. We don't have to get up yet."

"Mmmm," he hummed and the vibrations against her skin tickled, making her laugh again.

"Stop wiggling," he murmured. "Trying to sleep."

She thought of the many hours he had put in over the last week and a half, between the case that had gradually eaten up more of their time and trying to find a place for two lives in one apartment.

"Sorry," she said and he leaned over her shoulder when she stopped moving. She turned her head to meet him with a kiss. "Go back to sleep, baby," she told him. "We don't have anywhere to be today."

He snuggled in deeper, curling around her until she was no longer feeling the cold outside of their little cocoon of blankets.

"Love you," he breathed and then he was gone, back in the embrace of sweet sleep.

She had to swallow one, twice, before she could whisper, "Love you."

Then she took her own advice and closed her eyes, drifting back into sleep with thoughts of pineapple pancakes for breakfast when they finally surrendered to the need to start the day.

Review plz&thx.
